Following up from the previous post, this is the so-called Part 2 and here we are in Malacca - The Historic State, third smallest state in Malaysia after Perlis and Penang. Usually it will be loaded with numbersSsSsSs of land vehicles on the road especially during holidays and festive seasons. So, "Stuck in a jam? Have a break, have a KIT KAT!".
Started the journey from Kuala Lumpur after checking out from the hotel and reached around noon time (about 1 hour drive with kinda smooth traffic). As soon as we reached, checked in to the hotel and out for lunch at the famous Famosa Chicken Rice Ball Restaurant, heard that there are a few chicken rice ball restaurants around, not knowing which one taste the best, but I guess it depends on your preference though (price vs taste vs portion).
Typical Malacca food to order, Chicken Rice Balls, Char Siu (Barbecued Pork), Siu Yuk (Roasted Pork Meat) and Pak Cham Gai (White Cut Chicken). There were all good and not to left out the Chendol Malacca in brown sugar, superb!
Surprisingly, the chendol were prepared outside the restaurant (I thought there are supposed to prepare it inside with air-conditional as that will prevent the ice from melting fast), once there are ready to be served, they will then bring it in.
Done with makan-makan, time for some exercise, off to jalan-jalan around the place. I think Malacca town is a very encouraging tourist spot for people to walk instead of driving as most of the historical buildings are in the walking distance (I'm supposed). Below are some of the photos captured during the walk-around.
Walked all the way down and we then reached Nadeje Cake Shop which also known best for its' fabulous Mille Crepe. Waited patiently almost like 20-30 minutes for the seats, many people were enjoying the high-tea here at this hour, could also be due to the festive season. All in all, what I can conclude is that the Crepe Cake is definitely worth waiting for, had a good chit-chat and enjoyed the crepe very much.
I hope my parents will not kill me for posting this up, hahahahaha.. ..but it's common nowadays how gadgets have influenced our days.
Rain started to pour not long then and we did some light shopping activities in Makhota Parade down the street. Later, off next to Jonker Street for jalan-jalan again though there were light drizzle still, a similar night market concept with stalls selling souvenirs, handcrafts, clothes, toys etc and people around negotiating the price (kasi murah sikit tak boleh ka?). Sad enough, my memory card ran out of space, should prepare spares in my pouch, hence, limited photos were captured for the night and following day - LESSON LEARNT!
Indeed a full day at Malacca with loads of jalan-jalan activities (kaki penat giler), a short trip, time well spent but an enjoyable one. Had breakfast in the morning before checking out and back to Kuala Lumpur's One Utama for another round of shopping before heading back to Ipoh.

Had a 'Lepak-lepak Jalan-jalan Malaysia' family-trip again this year end of 2013, mainly for casual shoppingSsSsSs and most importantly to spend precious quality time with family that money cant buy. This post and the next post (Part 1 and 2) will be loaded with photosSsSsSs snapped from time to time during the trip, did not snapped much/any of landscape/scenery though, mostly are all foodsSsSsSs and lengzhai lenglui (vomit~). In that morning, we drove the way down to Kuala Lumpur, stopped by at Pekan Sungkai for a light breakfast in a Chinese kopitiam before continuing the journey, we had pekan style Char Siew Wan Tan Mee and Liu Fern. This kopitiam is flooded with uncles and aunties as you can see from the first photo, having their morning breakfast and chit-chat routine, feeling very comfortable in this environment not knowing why, just nice.

After breakfast at Pekan Sungkai, energy level recharged and we resumed our journey. Not long then, we reached Kuala Lumpur and far still early for us to check into the hotel, we then went Berjaya Times Square for a walk, light shopping and lunch at Papa John for some pizzaSsSsSs.
The wordings on that piece of sign below found on public transport is just hilarious and doesn't make sense (at least to me).
Here at Papa John, we ordered quite a few types of pizzaSsSsSs to try, from the menu, they have a great range of beef pizzaSsSsSs, but we don't take beef, so we ordered those with chickens and fishes. Moving down in orders are Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice (RM 11.90), Chicken Super Papa's (RM 12.50 for Small), Fisherman's Catch (RM 11.90 for Small), Hawaiian Papa (RM 11.90 for Small) and Onion Ring (RM 5.80). Just in case if you are looking for the menu and price of the full list, click here and the price are subject to 16% (government tax + service charge).
After done with lunch and another round of walk in the mall, almost time for check in and so, we drove over to The Royale Bintang Kuala Lumpur. Checked in, dropped off our stuffs and there we go again, off to Pavilion.
Spent hours there, done with shopping and not realising it's almost 10, stomach started to growl, decided to go Jalan Alor for 'makan malam'. We went Cu Cha Restaurant and here they serve various types of foods from various stalls. We ordered Satay Ayam, Fish Porridge, Char Kuey Teow, Hor-Chien, Fried Sang Mee and Ikan Bakar, share among ourselves. Was a fruitful day, satisfied and off to bed then, ready for Malacca tomorrow morning.
Next day, we went Killiney Kopitiam at Bukit Bintang for breakfast. We ordered their Killiney All Time Classic Set (RM 7.80 - Kaya & Butter Toast, Soft Boiled Eggs & Killiney Coffee/Tea), Hashbrown Sausage Set (RM 7.80 - Bread, Scrambled Eggs, Hashbrown, Sausage and Killiney Coffee/Tea), Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken Curry (RM 7.90) and Nasi Lemak with Killiney Fried Chicken (RM 9.90), price are subject to 10% service charge and the food overall were fine.
Battery bar refilled and checked out from the hotel then and there we continue the journey to Malacca. Coming up Part 2's photos compilation next on Malacca (Bandar Bersejarah).

Burning hot in the morning and heavy rain in the evening, what a weather to be nowadays. Right after we parked our car, timing was just 'ngam-ngam' right for the heavy rain to start pouring. With a small little umbrella on hand walking to Who's Bryan, lucky enough we didn't get wet much. Who's Bryan is a Western Food Restaurant established since July 2009.
The seat reserved for the day was just right below the air conditioner , what a "lucky" day. To avoid ending up fever and cold, we tried requesting a waiter if he could help to adjust the temperature control. With a pleasant smile from the waiter, he smiled and said "No problem sir.. Please give me a moment..". Very polite manners, indeed bonus points added.
Who's Crumbly Chicken at the price of RM 17.90. This is the famous Signature Dish of Crispy, Tender, Juicy Chicken, Crumbled with Crunchy Corn Flakes served with Sauteed Mushroom Gravy, also we observed most people ordered this as well.
Pasta Cheese Baked Chicken at the price of RM 17.50. Personal opinion, this looks good but the taste was just moderate, probably the sauce was a bit sour, overloaded with Tomatoes, eliminate a few would be much better.
Chocolate Craze for the day with Iced Chocs at RM 8.00 and Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream at RM 10.90, both were good especially the cake. If you're interested to take a look at the menu with prices, click here. Not to forget, the price are subject to 10% service charge and no government tax. Located at Upper Penang Road, happening place with pubs and clubs with late night activities.
